The Philadelphia Zoo is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg H. Goldman to the role of Vice President of Development. In his new role, Goldman will oversee the Zoo’s comprehensive development efforts including fundraising strategies, capital campaign initiatives and corporate and foundation relations. “I am thrilled to join the team at America’s first Zoo,” says Goldman. “This is an exciting time and I am happy to be a part of the important work happening here.”
Mr. Goldman brings with him extensive non-profit, public, and private sector experience. Prior to joining the Zoo, he held the Executive Director position at Delaware Valley Regional Economic Development Fund where he led a $20 million non-profit loan fund focused on impacting economic development efforts within the region. Previously, he served as CEO of Digital Impact Group where he developed a newly-formed, non-profit organization dedicated to making Philadelphia a leader within the “digital inclusion” movement emerging throughout the country. There, he created programs designed to educate and engage new investors resulting in nearly $2 million in additional funding. Formerly, Greg held the position of Executive Director at MANNA, an organization committed to delivering nutrition and improving the health of those suffering from life-threatening illnesses in Philadelphia. He significantly expanded MANNA’s major donor, corporate, event and government fundraising while simultaneously handling media relations and serving as its key spokesperson.
Goldman holds a Master of Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University. He is also lecturer in Urban Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship.
“We are happy to welcome Mr. Goldman to the Philadelphia Zoo,” says Vikram H. Dewan, President and CEO. “We look forward to his leadership and working with him to continue the Zoo’s mission of conservation and excellence,” says Dewan.
